Tell Us Your Craziest Mahr Story – NEW PODCAST SEASON!

One of the underlying themes with our work at Debt Free Muslims is connecting what Islam says about money to the practicalities of our daily life.

With season 3 of our podcast, we want to take that to the next level.

Instead of solely focusing on expert interviews, we’re going to be telling your stories about money.

Our first episode will be on Mahr, the pre-marital wedding gift (which is usually money) – aka dowry. We’ve got a few scholars lined up to give their input, but before we go to them, we need to know the actual issues affecting you.

That’s where you come in.

What is your experience with mahr? Did you have a non-traditional mahr? Did the issue of mahr cause a conflict before marriage? What about cultural or family expectations around it? How has it affected your ability to get married? Or affected you after marriage?

We want to hear from you, and maybe share your story with our listeners.

You can tell us your story in one of two ways: you can email us, or you can leave us a voice message at 724-426-2336. Make sure to include
1. Your story
2. How to contact you [dont worry, we’ll never mention names on the podcast without your explicit permission].

    Interesting and important topic.
I assume you’ll have women scholars comment on this topic?
